Why yes... yes she was.
She was more than worth the wait.

She has long long fingers, has her daddy and mommy wrapped around them.

She's the MOST beautiful baby in the history of the universe. Seriously. She is she really really is.

Of course her coming home outfit was hand knitted. Soaker by the amazing Aunt Mary, sweater/hat/booties combo by mom.

Daddy has already put her to work helping out in the yard.

Her birth wasn't all we had hoped it would be. We had a beautiful labor at home, and then pushed for an excruciating 13 hours before we realized that she just was stuck and not coming out. So... we ended up having a c-section. As sad as we are to not have had our dream home birth, and as difficult as the hospital stay was, she of course was worth every push, and every staple in my belly. It will take a while for us to get over it, but in the mean time... we've got these chubby cheeks to love on and this little feet to snorkel.

Stay tuned for more Ruby. All Ruby, all the time.

dear lord -- 13 hours? i am so glad that a c-section was available as an option and that she is finally here safe and sound. any birth that ends with a healthy baby is a good one.

and of course, she is absolutely gorgeous. such delicious cheeks!

Oh, she is gorgeous.

You deserve a medal or two or three. Thirteen hours of pushing without pain medication? You poor, heroic thing. I am so glad Ruby made it here with both of you safe and sound.

wow, she really is gorgeous. so sorry to hear that her birth did not end as you had hoped. but what a strong, courageous example Ruby has to teach her about all that it means to be a mother and a woman. (((hug)))to you, and sending you thoughts of healing and peace. drink in all that sweet newborn yummyness:)

13 hours! Holy mother! That means you!!! I can't imagine. You'll have stories to tell her when she gets older. When you were born.... But hey, that's how things go, right? Never as planned. But the little wonder arrived and she's absolutely beautiful, just like her mommy!

Take good care. Let me know when/where there is a public viewing! I can't wait to meet her.
