I guess you've gathered that the days of posting pictures of Ruby everyday are gone gone gone. Yeah, we just don't have the time for that anymore! Ruby is busy seeing the world and meeting with dignitaries. Ok maybe not exactly that... but still not time to post everyday. We're still trying for a couple of times a week though.....
So Yesterday mama went back to work for the first time. I don't know how Ryan has gone to work everyday since she was 2 weeks old. No wonder he rushes home at the end of the day and calls/emails to check in. it is HARD to leave. But... we won't bore you with the sad details of mama crying in the car, and all of her patients having to listen to her talk about miss Ruby-roo all day (well for the 3 hours I worked yesterday)... we'll tell what Ruby and Daddy did while Mama worked!
Reading!!! Dad discovered that Ruby loves books! (she gets it from me) He read her three books that were gifts from my awesome friend Hilary (who just had a huge baby boy!!). They also watered the yard - an old favorite of Ruby's and she drank a full three oz of breatsmilk from the bottle (and was still hungry!). Go dad! The only person who cried was me... hopefully that will get better with time, but since I'm only working two half days a week for the next few months, i should survive.
Today Ruby got weighed again, 10 lbs 11 oz! I think she's gonna be petite like her mama. We also went to a NINO meeting, all about babywearing.... and practiced using the maya wrap.
Maybe you'll all get lucky and there will be more of the ruby chronicles later this week.... but I wouldn't hold my breath!

If I was your patient I would be HONORED to hear the tales of little miss Ruby-roo! I'm sure they're all very excited for you... Sadly (or happily depending on how you look at it) I don't think I need any "work" at the moment... but there sure were some times I thought I could use a visit! Now I just feel outright comical and I still have 8 weeks left 'til wk 40 hits... and we all know that week 40 is just that -- week 40, no guarantees! I hope to draw from the strength of your uberpatience when that time comes!
Oh that's a Sandra Boyton book they are reading.... HOW I LOVE THAT AUTHOR!!!! Let me know if you are looking for my titles by her and I'll share my favorites!!
Oooooooh look at that face and those eyes! It seems like she's just getting more and more animated - or maybe it's just the set of photos. I know it had to be hard going back .... she's just a precious li'l gem!
I can't wait to be your patient again and hear your Ruby stories!! Better yet, to meet her. And see her momma again post-baby!
I figured you would be posting less now that you're a working mom. Btw, my sister used to cry every time she dropped off her grandson. He was born while her step-daughter was living at their house and he lived with his grandma and grandpa for the first year and a half of his life. My sis never had her own children, so she REALLY bonded with Ethan! When her step-daughter moved out, Alice was devastated at being separated from him.
But it's gotten a lot better for her over time. I'm sure it will for you too! Love those pictures of Ruby 'reading.' So so cute.
Oh, I can't even imagine how tough that day was for you! Good for you for pushing through, and I'm sure you are right, it was harder for you than anyone else. Sigh, and HUGS!
oh, mama ... that must be so hard on you ((hugs))
hey, I'm not working outside the home and I can't post every day ;-) Besides, Ruby is as you MORE than well know, totally worth the wait :-)
Much love!!! -Kara
